For Wrinkle Reduction
FAQs about
the Comet WR

What is the Comet™ WR?
The
Comet™ WR combines safe and effective levels of laser and radio frequency (electric current) energies to remodel the dermal layer of the skin by stimulating new collagen growth. This results in a smoother and softer skin appearance. Both laser and radio frequency have been used separately and successfully for decades in medicine and surgery. But the Comet WR, exclusively, combines both energies for optimal treatment outcomes with a very low risk of side effects and virtually no down time.

What can I expect from Comet™ WR treatments?
The
Comet™ WR improves textural irregularities in the skin that have been caused by loss of collagen in the dermis, including non-dynamic, moderate wrinkles; enlarged pores; superficial acne scarring; rough skin texture; and skin laxity of the face and neck. This is done non-ablatively, which means the procedure is not invasive. Most people experience only slight pinkness of the skin, if any at all, and can return to work or other normal activities immediately following treatment.

How many treatments are required?
Most patients require between 3-5 treatments.

How often are treatments done?
Treatment sessions are typically 3-4 weeks apart.

How long do treatments take?
Each treatment session usually takes half an hour.

Does wrinkle reduction treatment hurt?
The sensation you will feel—which lasts only an instant—has been described as a hot pinch or needle prick, like someone snapping a tiny rubber band on your skin. People tolerate treatment well by use of a topical anesthetic to numb the skin and/or the contact of the super-cooled laser treatment head.

Who should be treated with the Comet™ WR?
Anyone who has unwanted, moderate wrinkles; superficial acne scarring; enlarged pores; or rough skin texture from chronic sun damage should consider wrinkle reduction treatments, which also may improve pigmentation from chronic sun damage. Dynamic wrinkles, such as those between the brows or the deep folds near the mouth and nose, are not going to respond to
Comet™ WR treatment. We will be happy to discuss realistic expectations with you during your free consultation with our expert staff.

Are there any risks to wrinkle reduction treatment?
Any medical laser procedure carries the risk of side effects such as superficial blistering, crusting and/or pigment changes in the skin. These risks are rare and usually are resolved quickly. The
Comet™ WR technology incorporates several revolutionary advances that increase patient safety and minimize risks as well as provide greater comfort and satisfaction with the results.
