What is the Comet LV?
The
Comet™
LV combines safe and effective levels of laser and
radio frequency (electric current) energies to remove
leg veins and other unwanted vessels. Both laser and
radio frequency have been used separately and
successfully for decades in medicine and surgery. But
the Comet LV, exclusively, combines light and electric
energy to improve leg veins and vascular lesions with
a very low risk of side effects.
What can I expect from Comet LV
treatments?
The
Comet™
LV can improve unsightly leg veins and other unwanted
vascular lesions. Spider veins and larger blue-green
vessels on legs will gradually fade and can be treated
until the patient is satisfied with the results.
Facial spider veins can also be treated with the Comet
LV.
How many treatments are
required?
Most people will need between 1-3 treatments. Some
vessels may require more than 3 treatment sessions.
How often are treatments done?
Treatment sessions are typically 6-8 weeks apart.
Smaller spider veins may be treated every 4 weeks.
How long do treatments take?
Each treatment session typically takes 20-45 minutes,
depending on the amount of area being treated.
Does treatment hurt?
The sensation you will feel has been described as a
hot pinch or needle stab, like someone snapping a tiny
rubber band on your skin. To help people tolerate
treatment better, the skin can be cooled during
treatment and/or a topical anesthetic cream can be
applied to numb the skin. The super cooled tip of the
Comet's treatment head also is helpful. Our technician
will discuss your comfort level with you before,
during and after treatment.
Who should be treated with the
Comet LV?
Anyone with unwanted leg veins or vascular lesions may
be a candidate for treatment with the
Comet™
LV. Removal of vascular lesions and veins with
elos™
technology (laser and radio frequency) is a safe and
effective alternative for patients who want a
non-invasive approach to vascular treatment. The
Comet™
LV is the best choice for people who are not
comfortable with needles or who have had adverse
reactions to solutions that are injected into the vein
during sclerotherapy. During your free consultation,
our expert staff will be able to determine your
suitability for
Comet™
LV treatment.
Are there any risks to
treatment?
ANY medical laser procedure has risk of side effects
such as superficial blistering, crusting and pigment
changes in the skin. These risks are rare and usually
quickly resolved. The Comet incorporates several
technological advances that focus on patient safety to
minimize these risks and provide greater comfort and
satisfaction.
